Roisin and Chris’s prohibition theme wedding at Langtons Set Theater in Kilkenny. They planned during the pandemic, had some date changes, even Storm Barra that came knocking the day before the wedding itself, but their day came around it sure delivered!
Roisin is from Donabate, Dublin Ireland and Chris is from Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K. The pair initially met at a mutual friend’s house, and their later engagement took place is Lisbon on holidays and where Roisin thought Chris was on a knee fixing something but he was holding a ring box with a note that said, “Will you marry me, you shit?”. Her yes of course accompanied by her laughter.
Their wedding day was filled with sunshine from the moment the day began, it all started with Roisin and her bridal party getting ready in the hotel suite above the theater.
There were stories about her youth, some jumping on the bed, and some champers to calm any pre wedding nerves.
It was a room full of happiness, laughter, love and gorgeous wedding detail at Langtons Set Theater .
Most of the wedding details the bride wonderfully made herself.
Roisin not only made all of her wedding florals, but the decor, the table settings, stationary, the giant moon, and even her veil and parts of her shoes.
That’s some talent. Apparently the moon only took her an hour and a half to make. Amazing! Roisin who is a Physiotherapist for the NHS, was formerly designed for River Island after winning a fashion internship, post completing her fashion degree at NCAD
Stunning Roisin’s beautiful bridal dress was by Eliza Jane Howell and bought from Epernay Bridal, make up by Nicola Plummer Makeup, and hair by Powderroom Girls. Roisin wore a 1930’s German Art Deco ring engagement ring from Fetheray. A beautiful 1950s American Style wedding ring coming from the same boutique and her fan ring from Bill Skinner
During Chris’s morning prep, it was fun and banter too. The lads joking with one another and clearly naturals in front of the camera. Chris looks very stylish in a suit by Marcy Darcy Suits.
Roisin’s Dad did their wedding videoography and also added to the morning banter.
Their ceremony was absolutely touching and decorated beautifully.
It was so beautiful the moment the couple locked eyes at the alter and it was so heartwarming the way Roisin found it hard to hold back her ‘happy tears’ during their vows. You could also see Chris’s eyes well up with tears. Oh, the romance of it all!
Their nephews acted as ring bearers walking up the aisle with a humorous sign, and after the ceremony and family photos, we took some time for a group shot with a massive confetti bomb.
Roisin and Chris had a Winter wedding and choose to have an earlier ceremony, in order to leaves a larger gap of time before sun set for bridal party portraits and their bridal portrait session- an important part of the day for the couple
We took some prohibition era bridal party photos sitting on top the bar. The bridal party was full of fun and banter throughout. One of Roisin’s bridesmaids even made the stunning wedding cake!
When it was time for the bridal portraits with the newlyweds, we spent some time in Set Theatre, Bridies Candy Shop, and down the Main Street Kilkenny town where the duo were serenaded by waves, car honks, more car honks, truck honks, runners smiling, couples chatting, all of them wishing Roisin and Chris congratulations. It wonderfully felt like the whole town celebrating along. The pair were clearly moved by it all.
Kilkenny City Workers even momentarily turned on the Christmas lights a little bit early for the two of them!
I had such a great time photographing their wedding and getting to know them along the way
What a wonderfully memorable wedding day. Wishing them nothing but the continued success.
