We had a great time photographing Brenda & Kevin’s Mount Druid Wedding. This was a wonderful collaboration wedding with myself  (Nina Val Photography) and Frain Photo Below is their wedding story and a collection of some of our favorite images from their day:

Where do I start about the epic Brenda & Kevin and their stylish Mount Druid wedding. Their day was so fun and I can still hear their epic party in my mind. Mount Druid is one of Ireland’s top alternative wedding venues. It’s a venue that’s like it’s own little music festival. The perfect spot to say I do for the very cool, Brenda & Kevin. It’s full of Bo-ho charm, rustic decor, a lake with swans, it’s own gorgeous ceremony room, a dreamy bus converted into a hotel room, a pub, plants, carpets, more plants and a reception room that looks straight out of a magazine, complete with a tea cup wall.

The pair originally had plans for their own music festival themed wedding with a guest list of 450 people on Brenda’s parents farm. Due to the pandemic and then the ever changing Covid-19 restrictions, they endured numerous date changes like many couples, eventually making their personal decision to not postpone any longer. So they pivoted and scaled back to a guest list of 25 . They found their ideal music festival themed setting in Mount Druid, and threw a party that everyone will always remember. We were all so happy they had their day!

Brenda and Kevin’s music festival theme of course extended to the wedding parties’ fantastic attire. Brenda looked stunning in her Bo-bo bridal dress from Rue de Seine. She also wore a gorgeous crown throughout the day by Tilly Thomas Lux and Chanel shoes.

Her bridesmaids were also stunning in their Bo-ho style ASOS dresses, complete with feathered hats and flower crowns that they bought from ASOS and Claires. With added extra details by Stephanie Gleeson. Not to forget the most comfortable brown suede ankle boots for the gang from Paul Byron Shoes.

This equally fab Groom, Kevin, and his Groomsmen, also looked the part in stylish attire. Kevin’s impeccable suit was tailored made by Moss Bros and his Groomsmen had their looks from the same company. Shoes included
What a group. There was attention to detail, as late in the evening Brenda switched it up to some fun and comfy white Dr. Martens.

You can’t do a music festival themed wedding without music. Brenda’s talented Bridesmaids, including her own sister Tina provided beautiful music and guitar throughout the day as did Barry Quinn. After the I-do’s the pair walked down the aisle to a gorgeous live rendition of Florence and the Machine’s, ‘Dog Days Are Over’. Great tune! The power of it all nearly shook the walls and was made all the more powerful of a moment when a confetti bomb was set off very close to the couple. They were absolute champs about it and didn’t miss a step. It definitely brought on fits of laughter. As soon as they excited their ceremony the pair were greeted by a gorgeous rainbow. It made for such an epic image of their happiness and that same rainbow reappeared a second time for the bridal party portraits.

Post ceremony when the wedding party reached the pub and the music picked up again, Kevin took to the mic to sing a few traditional Irish tunes with his brother and Groomsman. This kept the whole room on their feet. Everyone was singing along, especially when they did an amazing cover of Grace by The Dubliners. Even their evening sparkler photos turned into an outside sing along, complete with cigars and small Jameson bottle shots.

We had such a fun day photographing this pair and both their families and friends. It’s quick to see how Brenda and Kevin are made for one another, and as both their families say, they’re like carbon copies of each other.
They laughed together throughout the day and it was contagious. A day full of memories. They had the two rainbows, a rocking horse, they popped bottles of campaign, there were swans, there was
dancing, an emotional slideshow with messages from all those who would have loved to be there, there was music, laughter,  and not to forget the heartwarming speeches by the couple and their friends.

It was touching to hear the words the pair have for one another and it gave the whole room gorgeous goosebumps when Kevin took a moment to sit with his happy emotions before he continued telling Brenda when she meant to him. What a romantic moment. What an epic day. What an epic pair.

Thanks for having us there to photograph your special day Brenda & Kevin. How lucky are we to be able to meet so many wonderful couples like you both! We wish you both nothing but the continued success
