Baby pinks, neon, a yellow bow with pearl studs, black and white stripes, daisies, tube lights. When two talented artists/ designers meet at the National College of Art and Design, fall in love and marry, their wedding- a spectacular palate of creativity!

Morganna and Liam personally made most of their wedding, with The Dean Dublin and themselves as their canvas. The bride Morganna not only made her own custom wedding dress, that’s right …she made her wedding dress! but she also made her bridesmaids dress, wonderfully added pieces from a disco ball to the heels of her purple satin shoes, and added detail to Liam’s grooms suit. Liam crafted and painted the neon and black and white backdrops used at the ceremony and reception, decorated the ceremony room & their creative direction extended to their dinner table decor. The couples flowers are from their own garden, they handmade some of the tables candle holders and even made their own invites. Everything was stunning!

I met Morganna and Liam when I photographed their friends wedding. I was delighted when sometime later they reached out to ask me to photograph theirs too. Their wedding day started at The Dean Dublin. I took some time to document their venue and their artistic designs. They thought of every detail. Even the rings. Liam’s ring was decorated with 5 colourful precious gemstones which represent all the colours of beautiful Morganna. Morganna’s wedding band is a simple elegant twisted rope platinum ring. The twisted rope symbolizes their intertwined lives, and compliments her beautiful & traditional Edwardian daisy shaped platinum ring from Delphi in Powerscourt Townhouse. It has classic Edwardian cut work. A platinum set hand cut diamond surrounded by sapphires and some more diamonds. Stunning like their pair themselves.

The guests all arrived, the room was set and ready to go and then Morganna, her bridesmaid and her Mom all arrived in a Yellow Volkswagon like a burst of colour. As they exited the car, passersby were already clapping and cheers for her, grinning from ear to ear, just as she was. I loved how when she made her way into the hotel, her soft pink hair, soft pink eyebrows, and lippy, matched the blush rose baskets hanging over head as she walked down the sidewalk. It was all like moving art. Breathtaking. Just like the custom wedding dress, bridesmaid dress Morganna made herself, and of course those purple satin wedding shoes she added the disco ball detail too.

Prior to the ceremony, she put on her veil, that she also made herself, and some final touches before heading upstairs to say i-do to Liam. I loved when she pulled out her
Shell shaped mirror compact. Every detail just worked together!

The ceremony started and it was all so touching and romantic. Smiles all around seeing the the bride for the first time, and Liam looked so stylish waiting at the top of the aisle, beaming with joy.
When they stood together you couldn’t help but notice how the rope tattoos that decorate Morgana’s arms matched up perfectly to the rope-like detail going up Liam’s suit arm and leg, a detail Morganna added to Liam’s Irish heritage wool suit herself!
Every details again working so well together!

They looked so deeply and lovingly into the eyes of one another during their whole ceremony. Blissfully in one another’s presence in those very special moments getting married. It was stunning to witness.
There were lovely readings, and a handfasting ceremony lovingly tied by their siblings with material that also matched the wedding theme. Post ceremony there was a very congratulatory receiving line in the window light and then we took some time for those important family photos infront of the epic tinsell wall installed by Liam himself

Then it was time for our bridal portrait session. We took some time for some city portraits enroute to Iveagh Gardens where the newlyweds embraced among the blush coloured roses, walked hand and hand under some lit up trees and were greeted by a very kind dog who was all too delighted to get it’s photo taken with the stylish pair

Back at the venue it was drinks reception time at The Dean Dublin on the newly renovated Sophie’s Terrace. The newlyweds were greeted by a glorious round of applause, as they settled in for some drinks and banter with those gorgeous views of Dublin City. We took some time for a few casual photos with their bridesmaid and groomsman and some additional bridal rooftop portraits.

Style wise they started as they meant to go on, as their reception room for their dinner was absolutely art. Flowers from their garden, blackened white stripped fabric lining the whole of the banquet table, homemade candle holders mixed in with some vintage glass ones, flower seed packages and name placements they made themselves which were also bursting with colour. When the guests made their way down from the terrace for supper, they all commented at how spectacular it all looked.

The dinner was fabulous, amazing food at The Dean Dublin, who also have wonderful staff and offer incredible hospitality. The speeches were indeed memorable and touching, and before the wedding headed downstairs for a secondary drinks reception, I was joined by the newlyweds in Power Gym located in The Dean Dublin for some some evening portraits.

As the reception room was effortlessly being converted into the afters party space where 60 more friends would join their celebrations, the wedding moved to the main floor of The Dean Dublin socialising to the sounds of legendary Dublin vinyl DJ Aoife Nic Canna. As their evening guests started to arrive, the energy was electric, joyful and more congratulations commenced from every corner of the room.

Back up to the reception room for the evening festivities! Liams hand crafted cut out and painted backdrops took on a different look as the tube lights changed colour. Their wedding cake brilliantly made by their talented friend Claire Farrell was positioned perfectly within a neon pink backdrop and further illuminated wonderfully with tubes lights placed all around it.

Once all their gusts were in attendance and before the dancing kicked off, Morganna and Liam began their dual speech addressing all their nearest and dearest. It was lovely to hear and the room was full of smiles, cheers and very happy watery eyes. Evening snacks were laid out, a few speakeasy like tables around the room for those that wish to sit and chat, there was a Polaroid photo book station, and a dance floor calling everyone’s names. But first, the bouquet toss !

The music started, the first dance kicked off what would be an epic night of dancing. Their whole wedding, guests included, were such a burst of colour and individual style. They all had amazing dance moves too. When the dance floor hit peak levels Morganna took a moment to change from heels to flats. Not just any flats either, a gorgeous pair of powder blue satin and crystal studded flats. Oh and remember the Yellow floor length pearl studded bow on the back of her self made wedding dress. It was made to be detachable in parts, so when it came to “dancing o’clock” as Morganna said, she just unfastened the longer section to remove it, which made the bow perfectly mid level and ideal for dancing. Design always in mind and flawlessly done.

Prior to myself heading off for the night the newlyweds and myself went downstairs for a quick portrait in-front of The Dean Dublin’s infamous electric blue and neon “I Fell In Love Here ” sign.

Morganna and Liam’s love is profound, their talent profound, and I was thrilled to be on hand to capture all the colours of their wedding day….& if any future couples are looking for anything custom from the depths of their imaginations- I believe I know two folks you can chat too!
